BlocParty (”we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the BlocParty mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using BlocParty, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account info: email address, display name, and password (passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text)
• • Location: ZIP code you enter, used to determine your congressional district and representatives
• • Political preferences: which proposals you add to your portfolio or watchlist, and how many points you allocate to each
• • Personal stories: any text you optionally share on proposals you care about
• • Membership: if you subscribe, our payment processor stores your subscription record — we never store credit card information

Information collected automatically

• Device info: device model, iOS version, and push notification token
• • Usage: which proposals and legislators you view, when you open the app, and milestones you complete (used to personalize recommendations and improve the app)
• • Crash reports: anonymized technical data if the app crashes

How we use your information

• Show you the representatives for your state and district
• • Calculate how well those representatives align with the priorities you’ve set
• • Send push notifications about legislative activity on your priorities (you can disable these in Profile, then Notifications)
• • Improve the app and fix bugs
• • Process membership subscriptions
